Visual artist, Nicolas De Waël was born in Reims in 1970.

In the mid-1980s, Yves Saint Laurent, his houses and his Majorelle garden, this perfect mastery of color without constraint of style or period were for him a real aesthetic shock.

His love for art had just been born.

After studying fashion and jewelery in Paris, her artistic sensibility drew her towards the creation of decorative objects.

Jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, objects, paintings… Why choose?

Throughout his travels and encounters between Milan, Tokyo, then London, he gave free rein to all his imagination and developed his taste for oddities.

From his Strasbourg workshop, he imagines for the Faïencerie des Emaux de Longwy narrative graphics sublimating the emblematic shapes of the Manufacture.

Publishers and manufacturers of goldsmithery, glassware, ceramics and jewelery open the doors of their workshops to him and give him carte blanche in the development of singular objects.

His passion for color naturally brings him back to painting and the initial love at first sight. Create without limits of support or technique.

I like my canvases to seem unfinished, awaiting metamorphosis, emptiness or light. The subject matters little to me, I prefer abstractions evoking pareidolia, landscapes, gardens, forests and undergrowth. ...my chromatic range arises and contradicts itself offering random vibrations to shapes and formless.
